In Roll Player Adventures, players compete to create the greatest fantasy adventurer. They do this by acquiring gear, allies, and skills, all while completing quests that will take them to far-off lands. The player who has the most impressive adventurer at the end of the game is the winner!
To set up the game, each player chooses a character sheet, then takes the corresponding player board, gear deck, and quest deck. The gear deck is a set of cards that represent all the gear your adventurer can possess. The quest deck is a set of cards that represent all the quests your adventurer can undertake. The player boards are where you track your adventurer’s progress, as well as their health, gold, and experience points.
The game is played over a series of rounds, each of which has four phases:
1. The Quest Phase
2. The Encounter Phase
3. The Gear Phase
4. The Clean-up Phase
In the Quest Phase, players draw one card from the quest deck and resolve it. This might involve traveling to a new location, fighting a monster, or acquiring some new gear.
In the Encounter Phase, players resolve any encounters they landed on during the Quest Phase. This might involve a fight, a negotiation, or a puzzle.
In the Gear Phase, players can acquire new gear by paying the cost shown on the card. They can also improve their gear by spending experience points.
In the Clean-up Phase, players discard any gear they no longer need, refill their hand to five cards, and draw one card from the gear deck.
The game ends after the last round is played, and the player with the most victory points is the winner!

How To Play The Thing Board Game
