Evolution Board Game How To Play
The game of Evolution is all about adapting your species in order to survive and dominate the competition. The game is played over a series of rounds, with each player taking turns to play cards that will help their species to evolve and compete. The aim of the game is to have the most successful species at the end of the game, and the winner is the player with the most points.
The game begins with each player being given a hand of five cards. On a player’s turn, they must play one of these cards. There are three different types of cards in the game- boost cards, trait cards, and creature cards.
Boost cards are used to help your species evolve and become stronger. There are three different types of boost cards- body, brain, and mouth. Body cards increase the size of your creature, brain cards increase the intelligence of your creature, and mouth cards increase the number of food that your creature can eat.
Trait cards are used to give your creature different abilities and make them stronger. There are six different types of trait cards- attack, defense, movement, camouflage, senses, and reproduction. Attack cards make your creature stronger in battle, defense cards make your creature harder to kill, movement cards allow your creature to move further, camouflage cards make your creature harder to see, senses cards allow your creature to see and hear better, and reproduction cards allow your creature to reproduce faster.
Creature cards are used to create new creatures. There are six different types of creature cards- amphibian, bird, fish, land, reptile, and sea. Amphibian creature cards can live in water and on land, bird creature cards can fly, fish creature cards can live in water, land creature cards can live on land, reptile creature cards can live on land and in water, and sea creature cards can live in water.
When playing a creature card, the player must put it into their ecosystem. An ecosystem is a grid of nine squares, three squares wide and three squares high. The top row of squares is the ocean, the middle row is the land, and the bottom row is the underground. The player can only put creatures into the squares that match the type of the creature card. For example, if a player plays a land creature card, they can only put it into the land squares. If a player plays a fish creature card, they can put it into the water squares, the land squares, or the underground squares.
When a creature is put into an ecosystem, it takes up one space. If a creature is put into an ecosystem that is already full, the player must replace one of the other creatures in the ecosystem with the new creature. When a creature is replaced, it is removed from the game.
The aim of the game is to have the most successful species at the end of the game. A successful species is a species that has a high body size, a high intelligence, and a lot of food. The player with the most successful species is the winner of the game.
