How To Play Stardew Valley Board Game
Stardew Valley is an open-ended country-life RPG, with support for 1-4 players. The goal of the game is to build up a successful farm, by growing crops, raising livestock, and mining minerals.
The game board is a square, with each player’s farm occupying a different corner. There are several spaces around the edge of the board, including:
-The Farm: This is where your farm is located.
-The River: This is where your crops will grow, and where you can fish.
-The Forest: This is where you can find trees to chop down, and also where monsters live.
-The Mountain: This is where you can find minerals, and where you can battle monsters.
Starting the Game
To start the game, each player chooses a color and takes the matching player pieces. The player who is first in the alphabet goes first, and play passes to the left.
On your turn, you can do one of three things:
-Move: You can move your player piece one space in any direction.
-Action: You can take one of the following actions:
-Plant a crop: Choose a space on the River (or in the Forest, if you have a hoe) and put a crop tile there.
-Raise a livestock: Choose a space on the Farm and put a livestock tile there.
-Minerals: Choose a space on the Mountain and put a mineral tile there.
-Battle a monster: If you have a sword, you can choose a space on the Forest or the Mountain and battle the monster there.
-Harvest a crop: If you have a hoe, you can choose a space on the River (or in the Forest, if you have a crop tile there) and harvest the crop.
-Collect a mineral: If you have a pickaxe, you can choose a space on the Mountain and collect the mineral.
Ending the Game
The game ends when one player has either collected all of the minerals, or has filled up their Farm with livestock and crops. That player is the winner!
